DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND
The AErena Gallery, in the Washington Square complex at the north end of town, recently applied to the Town Council for permission to place three sculptures in the planting areas immediately around their gallery space. They also requested the ability to place one in the planting area out in front of the complex, putting it in front of the Girard tasting room on Washington. The Town Council approved all of the placements, with the stipulation that the one on Washington be part of the Art Walk with all the review and stipulations that come with that. AErena Gallery stated that they were willing to do that so we will be talking very soon.

There are a couple issues that come up, that we need to discuss before that happens. We have worked with AErena Gallery in the past, currently "Hi Ho Silver" is placed in participation with them. In order to work with their process we offered them a reduced 15% commission to Yountville Arts if sold, but we required the standard two year loan agreement and we were at a $1,500 stipend to the artist at that time.

Areas for discussion:

* They would like a shorter term, 6 - 12 months for change out, are we ok with that? They feel that is the typical time it will take to sell a piece.

* Do we offer a stipend? It is more like the gallery placing the works, not the artist.

* Do we still require a commission? How can we monitor that as the sale of the art would be conducted by the Gallery?

As is our policy, the sculpture would be required to come before the Commission for formal approval before agreement execution and installation of the sculpture.
